What SOC 2 integration counts tell a first-time buyer
Comp AI states 580+ integrations, Vanta 400+, Secureframe 300+ and Scytale 100+ on its integrations page; Thoropass publishes no count. A bigger number raises the odds your tools are covered, but a first-time buyer should check coverage for its own ten to fifteen core systems by name.
Integration counts are among the few hard numbers compliance vendors publish, so they get a lot of attention. They are worth reading carefully.
What do the five tools publish?
| Vendor | Integrations | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Scytale | Scytale's integrations page says it connects 100+ tools (its homepage says 150+). Named examples include AWS, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Google Workspace, JumpCloud, Okta, BambooHR, Greenhouse, Lever, Intercom, MongoDB and ClickUp. | Source: scytale.ai · Read 2026-09-29 |
| Vanta | 400+ tools, per Vanta; AWS 40+ resources, Azure 30+, GCP 25+. | Source: vanta.com · Read 2026-09-29 |
| Secureframe | 300+ integrations, per Secureframe. | Source: secureframe.com · Read 2026-09-29 |
| Thoropass | Integrations 'vetted and approved by auditors'. No integration count on the page reviewed. | Source: thoropass.com · Read 2026-09-29 |

Scytale's own pages differ: its homepage says 150+ and its integrations page says 100+. We use the integrations page figure in our scores.
Why do counts vary so much?
Vendors count differently. Some count each cloud service as its own integration; Vanta, for example, lists 40+ AWS resources, 30+ Azure and 25+ GCP. Some count HR, recruiting and messaging tools that matter less for evidence. Some include integrations that only confirm a connection rather than pulling records. A count is a vendor's own tally, not a standard unit.
What does a startup actually need connected?
For a first SOC 2, the systems that produce most automated evidence are few: your cloud provider, identity provider, code hosting, device management, HR system and ticketing tool. Messaging, recruiting and customer support tools can help, but they rarely decide the audit. Scytale's integrations page, for example, names AWS, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Google Workspace, JumpCloud and Okta among its tools, plus HR and recruiting tools such as BambooHR, Greenhouse and Lever.
How do integrations affect our scores?
Published integrations carry 15% of the weight in our ranking. Comp AI leads at 5.0; the full order is Comp AI 5.0, Vanta 4.6, Secureframe 4.2, Scytale 3.2, Thoropass 2.0. Scytale scores 3.2, one of the four criteria where it does not lead.
What should you check before signing?
List your core systems, then ask each vendor three things for each: is it covered, what does the integration check, and how often does it run? Ask how evidence is handled for anything not covered. Secureframe's Complete plan lists custom integrations and Scytale's Scale plan lists on-prem integrations, which matters if you run systems outside the usual cloud tools.
Does the integration count matter after the first audit?
It matters more over time. A Type II report samples evidence across the whole observation period, and renewals repeat that every year. Each system without an integration becomes a recurring manual task: a screenshot, an export or a sign-off that someone must remember. For a small team, three or four manual systems are manageable; fifteen are not. When you add a second framework, the same connections serve both, if the tool cross-maps controls.

Questions founders ask
Which SOC 2 tool has the most integrations?
Comp AI, which states 580+ integrations, per Comp AI..
Is a higher integration count always better?
No. Coverage of your own core systems matters more than the total.
